Two More Days of Hell

Today, in celebration of the third-to-last day of my internship at a self-publishing company, I was given six hours worth of scanning. The scanner at my desk is mind-numbingly lethargic. Paint dries faster than it takes the thing to scan a single sheet of 8.5 x 11. I have never felt six hours pass so slowly. This was worse than an average day back in middle school, where I would stare at the clock until my eyes burned.

As I sat there through-out the day, memorizing my desk's fake wood-grain pattern waiting for page after page to scan, I could hear my bosses conspiring to give me more as soon I finished whatever manuscript I was working on. One of them would then come over and repeat the conversation to me, as though I hadn't heard every word they had said. Needless to say, the end can not come too quickly.

About a Month Left

My head's in a weird spot right now. I keep looking around my place, trying to figure out how many boxes I'm going to need to pack up all my books, clothing, and kitchen paraphernalia. I'm excited to leave, but I'm terrified I will spend the four months I'm gone terribly alone. At the same time, I wish I had a little more time here before I go, even though this city is starting to suffocate me.

In other news, I actually started working on HTML. I've also figured out what I want my portfolio website to look like. I've got two more weeks in self-publishing hell, and then its on to Montreal. Also, with my new hair-cut I look like a guy. Excellent...

For some reason, I just can't bring myself to work on HTML. David Sedaris is just too tempting. So is cleaning the kitchen floor. And eating. Or anything that is not HTML.

My friend had some people over last night for a potluck. As the evening was winding down, she turned on Labyrinth, which is definitely one of the most bizarre movies I have ever seen. David Bowie running around in leggings was one thing. But the frightful-looking gnome-man and pit of creepy human hands was a little too much, especially after three beers. At least now I can say I've seen David Bowie throw a baby into the air.

As for today, I will probably sit around and watch Star Wars instead of trying to make progress teaching myself HTML.

I'm trying to figure out a way to import my posts from my Tumblr, but it is proving to be extremely difficult and frustrating. Until then, here's a link to my Tumblr.

A Fresh Start

I decided to switch to Blogspot from Tumblr. woooo
